A south Florida native, Desi earned his B.A. from the University of Miami and Juris Doctor from the Florida State University, College of Law. With over 27 years’ experience, including several judicial clerkships, at the federal and state level, Desi practices exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation, defending employers and their insurance carriers. He is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the United States District Courts, including the Southern District of Florida. Disenchanted with the self-serving practice of many large firms, he left the world of “big firms” behind in 2001, choosing to join smaller practices, focusing on final early-resolution of claims. Today he is an equity partner and Vice President at Lopez & Morales, P.A. Since his admission with the Florida Bar, he has practiced in the trial and appellate courts, including successfully arguing appeals at Florida’s First District Court of Appeal. Desi is a member of the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Section, has spoken at the WCI Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference, and provides continuing education credits throughout the year for his clients.
